Frequently Asked Questions
What size wiper blades does a Mercedes-AMG SL55 take?
The R230 SL55 (2002-2006) takes a 26 inch (650mm) blade on both sides. The R230 Facelift SL55 (2006-2008) takes a 27 inch (675mm) blade on both sides.
Does the Mercedes-AMG SL55 have a rear wiper?
No, the Mercedes-AMG SL55 does not have a rear wiper blade. This model is fitted with two front wiper blades only, which can be confirmed in the specifications on the product page.
What wiper connector does the Mercedes-AMG SL55 use?
Both SL55 versions use a side lock connector, where the blade adaptor clips onto the side of the wiper arm. Only the blade length changes at the facelift.
Why does the SL55 blade size change in 2006?
The R230 Facelift that arrived in 2006 takes longer 27 inch (675mm) blades in place of the earlier 26 inch (650mm) pair. Owners of a 2006 car should check the build year against the table above before ordering.
How often should I replace Mercedes-AMG SL55 wiper blades?
Mercedes-AMG SL55 wiper blades should generally be replaced every 12 months, or sooner if they streak, smear or chatter. With the roof down the blades sit in direct sun for hours, which hardens the rubber even if it rarely rains.
