The Ford Focus is a small car that replaced the Laser in the Ford range, offered over its life as a hatchback, sedan and convertible. Sizes vary by generation: the LR (2002-2005) takes a 22 inch (550mm) driver blade and a 19 inch (475mm) passenger blade, the LS LT LV (2005-2011) takes 26 inch (650mm) and 16 inch (400mm), the LW LZ (2011-2018) takes a matched pair of 28 inch (700mm) blades, and the SA Hatchback (2018-2022) takes 24 inch (600mm) and 20 inch (500mm). The front connector changes from J-hook on the LR to side lock on the LS LT LV and push button on the LW LZ and SA, and every Focus Hatchback has a rear wiper while the Sedan and Convertible do not. Frequently Asked Questions
What size wiper blades does a Ford Focus take?
Ford Focus blade sizes depend on the generation. The LR takes 22 inch (550mm) and 19 inch (475mm) blades, the LS LT LV takes 26 inch (650mm) and 16 inch (400mm), the LW LZ takes two 28 inch (700mm) blades, and the SA Hatchback takes 24 inch (600mm) and 20 inch (500mm).
Does the Ford Focus have a rear wiper?
Every Focus Hatchback has a rear wiper, while the Sedan and Convertible do not. The rear blade is 15 inches (375mm) on the LR, 14 inches (350mm) on the LS LT LV, 12 inches (300mm) on the LW LZ and 11 inches (275mm) on the SA. The LS LT LV (2006-2011) and LW LZ Hatchback products cover the front pair only, so the rear blade is sold separately for those models.
What wiper connector does the Ford Focus use?
The Focus connector changed twice. The LR uses a J-hook connector, the LS LT LV uses a side lock connector that clips onto the side of the arm, and the LW LZ and SA use a push button connector that releases when the button on the adaptor is pressed.
Why are the Ford Focus LW LZ wiper blades both the same length?
The LW LZ Focus uses a 28 inch (700mm) blade on both the driver and passenger sides, unlike the earlier and later generations which use a shorter passenger blade. Because both blades are the same length and connector, either one fits either arm, but both should still be replaced together for an even wipe.
How often should I replace Ford Focus wiper blades?
Ford Focus wiper blades should generally be replaced every 12 months, or sooner if they streak or chatter. The rear blade on a Focus Hatchback is often forgotten, and road grime on the rear glass can wear it out as quickly as the front pair.
